Every schoolyard has a game where you are handed three names and forced to make three hard decisions. The precinct’s lawyers have asked me not to print its real name on a hat website, so here is the version you can play at work. Cop, Keep, Drop is the site’s second daily game. At midnight Eastern, three New Era caps from one league take the stand, and you hand each one a verdict. Everyone judges the same three, all day. Judge today’s three.
How the Trial Works
Every cap gets one verdict, and every verdict gets used once:
- 🔥 Cop: your top pick, the first one you would reach for.
- 🧢 Keep: worth keeping. Solid, honest, earns its spot in the rotation.
- 👋 Drop: a pass. Thank it for its time.
Nobody abstains, and there are no hung juries. Hand out a verdict another cap already holds and the two swap. Lock it in and the gallery opens: how everyone voted on each cap, and how many of your three verdicts the crowd agreed with. The league rotates every day through MLB, NFL, NBA and NHL. Votes are anonymous, and there is no sign-up.
The game went live on October 8 as Crown, Closet, Cuff, which sounded less like a game and more like a tailor’s invoice. It was renamed before the day was out.
The Case Log
The first two trials are closed. Hand out your own verdicts, then open the flap to see how Hatlock ruled.

How Hatlock ruled
- 🔥 Cop Los Angeles Rams, Chrome Herringbone 59FIFTY, $41.99 (was $55.99). Herringbone is a detective’s fabric. This one was never going to be close.
- 🧢 Keep Arizona Cardinals, 2025 Salute to Service Fan Gear 59FIFTY, $29.14 (was $52.99). Last year’s Salute to Service at 45% off. Nobody drops a cap that salutes.
- 👋 Drop Carolina Panthers, 2026 Training 59FIFTY, $44.24 (was $58.99). Training camp ended in August. Somebody tell the cap.

How Hatlock ruled
- 🔥 Cop Houston Rockets, Hardwood Classics Diamond Stitch 59FIFTY, $39.74 (was $52.99). Throwbacks don’t get dropped in this courtroom. They get entered into evidence.
- 🧢 Keep Indiana Pacers, Chrome Herringbone 59FIFTY, $41.99 (was $55.99). Herringbone again. I would cop it twice, but the court frowns on favorites.
- 👋 Drop Sacramento Kings, 2026 Draft Black 59FORTY A-Frame, $44.24 (was $58.99). The Kings walked in expecting a crown. This game dropped crowns on day one.
Prices from the deal board on October 10, 2026. They may have moved since.
Court is adjourned until midnight Eastern, when three new caps take the stand. Be fair. Be firm. Drop with dignity.
