What's up, Holmies? Every day, one hat gets selected as Case of the Day. No voting. Not the hat with the most midi-chlorians. No corporate overlord is picking this. Just some Hatlock math leading to a deal score.
Here is the setup.
- Discount size. Bigger discount, bigger score. A 50 percent off hat beats a 20 percent off hat. Shocking, I know.
- Freshness. New arrivals get their moment. Older deals cool off after a few days.
- Size availability. More sizes means more people can actually wear the thing. A hat in only 6 7/8 is not a deal, that is a personal challenge.
- Price range. Hats landing between $20 and $40 after discount get a little boost. That is the sweet spot. The "I may be able to justify this" zone.
The top score gets the spotlight for the day, and it updates every morning. So no, it is not random. It is just my made-up algorithm doing detective work.
I thought this would be a fun feature. You can always ignore it and get straight into the other thousands of deals.
